Shiva and the Hazards

Melbourne / London band Shiva and the Hazards are made up of founding members Douglas Hind and Leigh Baines, as well as Jet O’Rourke.

Having just finished their tour of Australia and New Zealand supporting RIDE, including a sold out show at Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre, Shiva and the Hazards will be hitting the road again this October supporting CAST at the East coast dates on their Australian tour.

Their new single, “Angkor Wat”, released August this year, has been aired on Triple M and Triple J Unearthed in Australia, as well as independent radio around the world.

Produced by Matthew Redlich (Holy Holy, Husky), and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys), “Angkor Wat” has been described as “glorious” by Australian Music Network, and as “an acid laced space traveller” by Happy Magazine.

Previous single, “East India Empress”, from the debut EP, “Future Cult Classics”, earned radio play on Triple J, Triple M and community radio in Australia, as well as BBC radio and independent radio in the UK.

Produced and mixed by Chris Potter (The Verve, The Rolling Stones),”East India Empress” was dubbed “a dreamy psych expanse” by Triple J’s Declan Byrne, with BBC radio’s Gary Crowley calling it “Impressive stuff and a real Brit Pop tinge… a cracking debut single”.

”Angkor Wat” and “Future Cult Classics” are available now via the usual online platforms including Spotify and as a limited tour edition CD via Bandcamp.
